Does my pets age impact my pet insurance cost?
Asked 2 years ago
My dog is 6 and will soon enter senior years. I'm wondering how this will impact my insurance premiums? Is it then still worth it to insure them when I can pay out of pocket for issues as they arise?

Pet insurance for your dog will likely be more expensive than for a younger dog. In addition, your policy might increase in cost every time you renew it because you are more likely to file a claim. If you are concerned about the monthly fee, look for a flexible policy that allows you to customize your coverage limits, deductible, and reimbursement percentage. When considering if pet insurance is still worth it for your dog, consider the life expectancy of your dog, the conditions your policy covers, and the quality and service of your current insurance provider and plan. You may find it hard to find a new plan since most plans don't cover illnesses that exist before you have the policy.
