Does pet insurance cover anesthesia?

My last dog was not insured but I remember part of his surgery invoice included the costs for injectables such as sedatives and anesthesia. Now that my new dog is insured, I'm wondering if these things will be covered if I put a claim in?

I would speak with your insurance company to verify what the amount you are covered for. For example they may cover up to $400 worth of the anesthesia invoice and you are responsible for the difference. It also may depend if it is a preventative anesthesia or emergency anesthesia.
